Description
If you have a toddler that tosses through the night, the Amani Bebe Cot Bumper & Pillow Set is a great way to save your child from bumps and knocks, whilst supporting their neck as they grow. The bumper is a curved cot bumper that is designed for oval and round cots, like our Sova Cot. It is made from Breathe Eze fibre which is a polyester fibre padding, which is tested for firmness and breathability. The fibre is non-allergenic and odourless. The covers are GOTS certified organic cotton which is better for sensitive skin, eczema and other skin allergies.
As there is no foam used in our bumpers or pillows, so they are washable in cold water, so they are more hygienic for your child.
We recommend the cot bumper for toddlers. Bumpers are not recommended for infants under the age of 6 months and pillows are not recommended for babies under the age of 12 months. To use your bumper attach it safely to your toddler’s cot with the short ribbon ties so that the bumper is firmly positioned. We recommend that you follow safe sleeping practices, as determined by medical experts and in particular we recommend that your child’s room is well ventilated, and your toddler does not use the bumper to climb on.
If you have a toddler who likes to climb, we do not recommend a bumper for your cot. Adult supervision is always recommended.
We carefully select the materials to create our products. This is why we made our bumper and pillow covers from certified organic textiles, so you can rest easy, knowing your child is not inhaling anything toxic.
Your baby is the most precious little human in your life. Naturally, you want to do everything you can to ensure that they have the best in life. You may have already switched to organic food to guarantee they are healthy on the inside so why not ensure what you wrap them in is safe too? We have compared why it is best to choose organic products for your baby.
The big difference between organic and conventional cotton is the way the product is produced, and the number of toxic chemicals used in the process. This is how organic cotton is produced:
• It is harvested delicately with the use of natural cotton seeds.
• The soil used is chemical free.
• Farmers only use rainwater to grow the crop.
• No chemicals or pesticides are sprayed at any stage of the process.
• The cotton balls are handpicked and never bleached or dyed with the use of toxic chemicals.
• If dyes are used, they are usually plant based, nontoxic dyes.
It lasts longer
This is because organic cotton’s resilient fibres have not been damaged by chemicals during the growing and weaving process.
It’s Free from Toxic Chemicals
So you can rest easy, knowing your child is not inhaling anything toxic.
It’s Softer and More Comfortable
Maximising your baby’s comfort and ensuring they stay cosy and itch-free.
It’s Better for Your Baby’s Skin
As organic cotton always keeps its natural state, it makes it mould resistant and antimicrobial too, so there is less of a chance of your child developing skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and skin allergies.
It’s Better for The Environment
No chemicals are used, and farmers recycle rainwater so water from conservations isn’t wasted.
It’s Better for Farmers
The farmers aren’t exposed to any harmful chemicals and don’t inhale any pesticides and insecticides. They also aren’t forced into debt from purchasing expensive GMO seeds.
How do we know our textiles are Organic Cotton?
We use certified textiles by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
To obtain the GOTS “organic” label, a product must:
• Contain at least 95% organic fiber
• Not be treated with bleach, formaldehyde or any other toxic substances
• Be colored with nontoxic dyes
• Be produced in a mill that enforces strict social and environmental standards, treating their employees and the earth with deep respect.
• GOTS certification means that our products meet the very highest standards.

What is STANDARD 100 Class 1 by OEKO-TEX®
Oeko-Tex® is a worldwide association of independent research and testing institutes for product safety and sustainable production in the textile industry. Oeko-Tex® was introduced in 1992 and is used for testing and certification of textile products.
Textile products are awarded the STANDARD 100 Certification if, on the basis of the extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalogue, they have been successfully tested by one of the OEKO-TEX® partner institutes for chemicals that pose a health risk, and therefore contribute to an effective consumer protection.
Babies’ sensitive skin requires special protection. “Product Class I” is the strictest of all four classes in the OEKO-TEX® certification process, testing products for children up to the age of three for harmful substances.

Safe Sleeping Practices
When using a babyhood product we recommend that you follow safe sleeping practices. Whilst we appreciate and respect a parent’s right to make the right choices for their family, there are guidelines recommended by the medical experts for safer sleeping for your babies because we all want happy and healthy bubs.
These guidelines include:
Always sleep baby on their back from birth, not on their tummy or side.
Make sure there are no loose objects or extra linen on your baby’s cot.
Make sure your baby’s mattress is firm and clean.
Lay your baby on a flat and uninclined surface.
We know that there are many baby nests in the market that promote that they are like a cocoon for your baby to feel like they are in your womb and reduce the risk of reflux. These products are angled and do not provide your baby with a flat surface to sleep on. An infant’s head is often a little larger and unsupported at birth, so their heads tend to tip forward naturally. So, it is important to lay your baby on a flat surface for sleeping. Products where the surface curves can bring your baby’s chin to the chest. This will make it harder for your little bub to breath, as their airways are compressed. This is very dangerous. Medical experts do not recommend you incline a baby for sleeping unless they are in a hospital environment and are supervised by medical experts. This is because it can be fatal to your baby. The Australia Government is currently in the process of considering banning products that incline for sleeping. Keep your baby safe and do not trust brands or products that incline your baby for sleeping. If you would like more information, please watch our BLOG about safe sleeping.
If you have questions about how to use our products please call us or email us, we are always happy to guide you to create a safe environment for your baby using our products.

“Super trendy and something I usually wouldn’t have the confidence to go for.
